April Fools

This year for me, April Fools came a day early. However, I didn't realize this until today... which in my mind qualifies it as something I can blame on April Fools.

My conception of april fools day is that usually when a joke is played on someone, it's just that.

Anyways, yesterday I picked up my taxes. There were a series of things that made me happy. First, it only cost me $25 (which in hindsight should have been a tip-off) Second, I was actually getting a refund! and Third, I was able to claim myself as independent this year earning myself the extra money we're getting in May.

Since I have been self-employed for the last 3 years, I have learned to save money for taxes. So, since it didn't seem i owed anything, I was getting all that money i saved all year too!

Well... let me just say this. My excitement was only short lived, because as I thought about all of this, I decided to take a look at the paperwork myself. I found that absolutely NONE of my earned income was listed except for the W2 that i had given them. Which only accounted for about 1/3 of my total yearly income! And since I had extra money taken out of those checks to balance out what I would owe at the end of the year, that is why I was receiving so much money back...

Anyways, it could be worse. I just thought that I had some sort of windfall miracle happen yesterday. It was a nice feeling, even if it was short-lived :(
