small-town USA

I was asked to take pictures for the Lima Crossroads Festival this past Saturday. It was a lot of fun, but seriously, a looooongg day. I knew it would be. I was under no delusions. But I made the best of my downtime.

I was able to walk around connecting with most of the vendors that came and passed out a ton of literature. I have come to realize that since almost all of my business has been through word of mouth or referral that connecting with people is pretty much my most valuable tool. Fortunately, it happens to be something I love doing. So score for that one!

I also got to see a lot of people that I already knew but just haven't seen in awhile. I love small-towns for just that reason. There's such a sense of belonging that accompanies small-town life.

Amidst shooting pictures of the bed-race, lima bean bake-off, people being dragged to jail to raise money and the battle of the bands, I got some pretty cool stuff. But as I sorted through everything this morning, this little guy stood alone as my favorite shot of the day :)
