touring the apartment

Now that we are back from the honeymoon and things are still out of control starting to settle down, I've been working on cleaning and organizing the apartment. I find doing this so much more fun now that I'm married than when I had my own place, but I'm not sure why.

I've been working on everything little by little, but the kitchen was so clean and pretty much as organized as it will get that I couldn't help but take pictures of it. Plus, there is such crazy amazing light in there that sometimes I just walk in there to feel happier. Light can do that ya know.

This is what you see when you first walk in. Can you tell I'm still obsessed with the peonies?

Two of the cookbooks I received from the wedding is the Betty Crocker vintage cookbook, which is totally a blast from the past because it's the first book I really ever used recipes from :) And then there is the 500 cupcake book. Ooo lala! I made one of the recipes the other night... chocolate chip muffins. And it called for buttermilk... since I didn't have any, I used butter and milk. I am well aware that's not what buttermilk actually is, but it actually worked. They were eaten too quickly to take pictures of.

So there's my kitchen. My married kitchen :) Speaking of marriage, I'm shooting another wedding today and then also my own wedding pictures have been posted on facebook! I will be posting them on my blog asap!

I am so jealous of the light in that kitchen! Beautiful!

I had to laugh about your cactus. J always used to buy me plants too when we were dating because he said they'd last longer and be a better "symbol of our love" than flowers that dry up and have to be tossed out in a week. Don't ya know I killed every single one of those plants? I have bad luck with anything green, lol. (Of course moving across the country didn't help...but still!)

Cant wait to hear more about your honeymoon! And I keep trying to view your wedding slideshow on Facebook and my computer is acting goofy and hasn't let me yet. From what I've seen so far though...wow. You were stunning Amanda! I so wish I could have been there in person! Looks like Rachel did a great job capturing your special day.

How nice! I think your table is the same as ours. We love it! Ya know, you can mix milk and vinegar or milk and lemon juice to substitute for buttermilk. I do it all the time!! Congrats, again!!!

I have an AMAZING recipe for banana bread using Buttermilk, and wholewheat pancakes as well. I usually get some from the store when i think i will make both recipes, although i have heard of making your own with vinegar.

(speaking of which i never wrote down a recipe for the shower.. i had printed them out.. forgot to give them to you, can i just e-mail them to you? i picked some of my FAVORITES for you.. some family secrets he he.)

Cute cupcake book... wherever did you get that lol... And can i point out how funny it is that the first recipe you made of out a CUPCAKE book was a MUFFIN recipe... ROFL... silly girl we need to have a baking party and try out another recipe.

Lol.. I'm the same way with house plants! I also say the same thing about banana's except I never make them into bread! I have about 15 bananas in my freezer as we speak.. Sadly, they will never become banana bread :( ... So glad you are settling in Amanda!!
