my "purse" revealed

I've long been made fun of for my non-affinity of carrying purses. It's not that I don't have them, but like with many things in my life, I get bored with them. They are annoying to carry, and I'd rather have a wallet that holds the "essentials" and use my pockets for the rest.

It also keeps me more organized (amazingly enough) because when I have a purse to keep throwing stuff into, it ultimately turns into a portable trash can. yuck. PLUS, there is another added bonus. I can't lose it! Now, you may think that my probability for losing stuff that I put in pockets is higher, and while you may be right, you've forgotten that if I only have $5 in my pocket, that's a LOT less than all I would have had in my purse!

Hey, it works for me ;) and I rarely lose anything... at least anything important...

So when I was tagged to post pictures of my purse and its contents I said hmmmmm... what shall I do? I do not have a purse... But, I did have a bag that day. So, that's what I took pictures of.

Here are the rules:

1. Post a picture of whatever bag you are (using) today - not last weekend when you and your hubby went out to that fabulous restaurant. No cheating!!!

2. Tell us how much it cost. This is a no-judgment zone -- there will be no ridiculing or eye rolling here. (Whatever! Judge all you want! Purses are necessities like food and water!) And, if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, I'd love to hear it.

3. Now tag some fellow bloggers and link back to this post so people know why you are posting pictures of your bag.

THE BAG

Yes, that is right friends. A wal-mart bag. My usual form of transporting various items that I need for the day when I leave for work. Environmentally unfriendly? Sure. Convenience it provides for Amanda? Priceless...

THE CONTENTS

The receipt with the previous day's purchases on it. Just in case any of your nosey nancy's want to zoom in and see what I was buying, you'll be glad to know there is nothing of note on there. I think there was some juicy juice and some other random food items... maybe some club soda?

The ever-present orange. Yep, almost everywhere I go, anywhere I am, you will most likely find and orange on me somewhere. What's ironic is that I rarely eat them. Not that I don't like them, but I just like to have one around in a pinch. They're very portable and clean, that's why I carry them :)

mmmmmmm... garbanzo beans. I love these things. However, they have a notsopleasant effect on my body and as a result, I must only eat them when I plan on being alone... therefore I don't eat them nearly as often as I would like ;)

Well, that's it. Sooooo exciting. I know, you guys were probably all like, ohmigoodness, Amanda posted what's in her purse?! I can't wait to see what treasures lie within... only to be disappointed.

Hence my cheesy comments throughout.

If you want to do this and bare your soul purse to the blog world, let me know you did so I can come stalk you :)

guess what i bought today

***UPDATED!***

Wow! you guys are good! It probably didn't have anything to do with the fact that i twittered about it when I did it LOL! I realized that after I posted this.

But YES! I bought the 5D yesterday! I still have to wait for it though. What a downer, seriously.

I mean, it's so much more exciting to go to a store and fork over your cash and walk away with it in your hand.

When I bought the camera yesterday, I didn't even know that I had bought it. I pushed the submit button waiting for the payment info to pop up, but it didn't. Because I had already purchased stuff on there and it was stored.

Anyways, I am BEYOND EXCITED. I kinda wish I could postpone my 2 sessions this weekend so I could use the new one. But who cares! I've been rockin the old one, I'm gonna go out with a bang!

I decided to stop posting my shoots on here as much as I now have my photo blog up and running. I have yet to create a link to it on here, but I will :)

In the meantime, if you want to check out my most recent October shoots, check it out at amandaslakesphotography.blogspot.com.

ok, now go ahead. GUESS!

(i'll give a hint in the morning if noone has figured it out yet... just take a stab ;)

Nope, not me!

MckMama is beginning a new blogfest called "not me! Monday"

It is really quite funny and although in the beginning I didn't know how to do it, I quickly figured it out and decided that this actually make for some pretty hilarious blogging :)

So here goes nothin, as I tell you what I didn't do this week:

On Friday night I most certainly did not stay home and sort pictures. I did not stay home just so that I could save my car from accumulating any more miles... nope not me!

I did not tell my good friend that I couldn't babysit just because I wanted to sleep in on Saturday am...

On Saturday night I did not go to the overpriced movie theatre and movie hop... and I most certainly did not see two of the most disgusting movies I've ever watched in my life one right after the other...

and while i was at the movies, I absolutely did not buy a medium refillable diet coke for $5.50. And after I was done not buying it, I did NOT decide that alicia and I could together get it refilled 4 times for a total of 220 ounces of diet coke.

I DID remember that diet coke has caffeine in it only after I was done not drinking ounce #48.

I did not keep drinking the DC after realizing that because that would have been plain stupid...

I did not go to the bathroom at the movie theatre 8 times in 4 hours... that's just gross. Who drinks that much anyways?

On the way home from the movies, I didn't almost get pulled over for speeding... and I seriously did not pull down a road not on my normal path just to avoid the cop.

After I got home I didn't hide the car in the back and sneak into the house because the cop was not driving around on my street looking for me...

I did not start doing laundry at 2am so that I would have clean clothes by the time i had to get up at 6:30... nope, not me!

Well, that's what I didn't do the last few days... what didn't you do?

Go on over to MckMama and link up so I can see how much you didn't do this week :)

what color are you?

I am WHITE today

You are the color of purity and truth. While you may often be considered naive, you know what is truly important in this world and are morally steadfast. While it could only take tiny interaction from another color to spoil your perfection, chances are you are going to remain pure and beautiful forever.

Sooo... what color are you?

DK2

I have been thinking lately that i haven't posted any random and or crazy stories... which after all, I am known for. So i thought i would post one now to remedy that.

let's talk about my benevolently acquired super nintendo game system. if you were born in the 80's then you will for sure know what I am talking about here, but if not then i will explain a little.

Nintendo made it's debut in 1978 in the form of an arcade game Computer Othello. In 1981 Donkey Kong was created and instantly became hugely popular. Then the first NES (nintendo entertainment system) finally came out in 1985. After a few years the original NES, nintendo got pushed aside as we moved on to what we knew then as the greatest advancement in gaming history, the Super NES.Welcome to the early 90's.

I had a friend who lived a few houses down on my street and we would spend hours playing on her SNES. Our favorite game to play was Donkey Kong, and when DK2 came out, we invested a large part of our memory space into that.

So here I am, 16 years later in the year 2008 still playing DK2. I don't know for sure how many times I have beaten the game. After you beat a game once then there is always the challenge of beating it better the next time! Well at least that's how I think. So last night, my brother Dan and I began yet again a team game of DK2 and worked our way almost through Krem Quay before we hit the deck. In non-gaming terms, that means world 3... still a game term... oh well.

So there is a pathetic and random story about a piece of my childhood that I still carry with me today.
